tornadoes

all of the tornado and storm warnings and watches have been lifted around here for now. the roads have dried. the temperature is perfect at 75°. me and the busa are taking it to the streets spinning some extreme winds of our own.

last ride of the year

i pulled the busa out for a spin christmas eve figuring it might be the last ride of the year due to the snowmagedon weekend forecast: we barely got a dusting here in dc. but, with 29 mph sustained winds and gusts @ 50mph right now and thru this week, i probably wont be back on for a couple of weeks at least...cant wait for daytona.

i definitely want to do some type of swing arm extension on the busa...just not sure how much...or how little...is this too much?

i found a new helmet that looks great with my new busa. icon has lots of stuff to add to my xmas list...glad i stumbled upon them.

ocean city bike week

officially entitled delmarva bike week, ocean city is filled with bikes this weekend!

hope to join them soon...not sure if i'll ride the harley or the busa.

hayabusa evolution: part one

i got the busa back from its shop, and frankly: i couldnt be happier. the new stripped down version is super fast and super cool...a swing arm lengthening is coming next...i promised the wife i would sell the zodiac to fund it though: know anyone who wants to buy a boat?

i am amazed by the technology packed into my new 2009 busa. this one rides so much smoother than the last one.

still looking for "the one" to replace my stolen busa...thought i had found it with a 2007 version-similar to the one pictured above-but then i found out it had been down...

new motorcycle with lojack

i am still sad about the loss of my hayabusa last week...just cant get over they would take it out of my front yard. but, i am moving on...havent pinpointed my new ride exactly, but this one will have lojack...

might not have chrome paint.

hayabusa gets new mirror(s)

i installed new larger mirrors to replace the tiny cool ones that came with the hayabusa... promptly knocked the bike over while re-loading it into the trailer and broke the right side one off.  the new one arrived today and i put it on again.

the weather was great today...took the busa for a spin. did not need the jacket.

my motorcycle trailer is a nuisance

i really wanted to take a spin on the busa today because it got up to 62°, but it is such a hassle to rotate vehicles around so i can hook up to the trailer, pull it down the driveway so i can get a bike out, and then replay the entire process in reverse to put the bike away. i bought the trailer to haul the bikes around for various bike week excursions, and thought it would be a great place to store them when i wasnt riding...but, the trailer is actually a nuisance! thinking about getting rid of it and building a mini garage/shed at the end of the driveway.

hell hath no fury like this f-ing winter!

we got 30 inches  of snow last weekend during the 2010 blizzard, phase 1. i had to dig trails for the dog so he could take a piss. now its snowing again with 10-20 inches expected...and the 50 mile per hour winds make me glad i put the busa in the trailer with the harley...unless the roof caves in. i live in dc not in colorado: this is ridiculous.

we got another 6 inches of snow here in maryland...most of it melted today, but more is predicted for this weekend.

Saturday was sunny so I took a ride on the busa. it was really cold. I did not see the rain coming on Sunday.

2002 hayabusa carbon fiber fender swap out

i was working on my post re: rams cycle installing my new black/charcoal houndstooth carbon fiber fender on the hayabusa, when i looked at the 'before' shot with the brushed aluminum fender...wow: not sure the darker one is the answer, design-wise. it kind of makes the front end of the hayabusa dissappear into oblivion. may have to get it painted to match the lighter colors. the carbon fiber is a performance upgrade, but i think the solid, consistant color gives the bike a more solid, armor-like look.
